Didn't have a chance for a walk in the woods in November and December's walk was a very brief one.
An optical illusion?
Depending on how your eyes see the rabbit tracks, they are either indentations , or bumps, in the snow😊
A few windy days cause pine cones to drop; one partially open and another fully open and dropping seeds.
Windy days also bring down a few pine needles and oak leaves
A brief warm spell opened patches in the snow cover showing the fallen maple leaves below the snow, while the always late falling oak leaves above the snow.
Like the oak trees, the beech trees hold on to their leaves well into the winter
Until the snow gets deeper ferns provide some early winter greenery in the woods.
Snow covered bracket fungus at the base of a tree
A bonus on the way home....
I had heard a hawk while in the woods, but never saw it, while 15 minutes into the drive home I spotted a red-tailed hawk in a tree close to the oad.
