This field was likely last year's seeds self planted as it was not very dense and full of weeds.
Some how the backs of the sunflowers are always interesting.
But the "in your face" ones are very attractive.
The bees were very busy and in some cases were so covered with pollen they blended in with the flower.
While not a bee, this hoverfly was hard to spot..
A monarch butterfly dropped by for a few seconds.
(The other insect is a goldenrod soldier beetle.)
