There were still a few flowers in bloom at Fletcher (and in one small section of the Experimental Farm)
A Japanese crabapple tree was both bearing fruit and in a second bloom
A lot of pink turtlehead plants were blooming, reddish purple asters , heather aster, bigleaf aster and two varieties of blue lobelia - blue and white
The joe pye weed and wild bergamot were in seed
Some maple trees were showing their fall colour
Overseeing the garden during our visit was one of the resident chipmunks
