SANDHILL CRANES
Sandhill cranes are quite plentiful and very tolerant of people.
Finding a pair with a nest at a rural nature reserve was great;
 We visited an urban park and found two less than week(?) old colts. walking about with their parents. Needless to say that wasn't our only visit to that park!
ROSEATE SPOONBILLS
Roseate spoonbills are likely the most spectacular large bird in Florida

On a clear sky day their flights can be quite spectacular
There always seem to be some flying around, including bring nesting materials to their partner.
Some are already on eggs, while others are still gathering nesting material.

WOOD STORKS
Wood storks are not the most cute bird.... their bald scaly head and large beak detract from their appearence
Early morning often finds them in trees. There were at least six nests in one tree.

When searching for food in the marsh, they will often extend a wing to provide shade.
IBIS
White ibis, an example of juveniles being a completely different colour than adults.

Glossy ibis live up to their name went turned just the right way to the sun.
LIMPKIN
A bird that can be mistaken for a juvenile white ibis, until it opens it mouth....
They are VERY loud.
