Calgary, in 1999, had a good many murals in the central area. Including decorated traffic control boxes.







Including a few covered with historical photos.





There was a wide range of decorative art work, some caught my attention more than others.












Highway support structures provide good spots for murals.




As in some other cities, stores made use of murals.




"Pop" murals were in good supply.











Some made good use of colour.




There was a second boot mural nearby, but a large truck blocked the view, so I settled for this mural, despite the spelling mistake on the sign.

When travelling in Europe it was quite common to see a rendition on the protective scaffolding cover of the building being renovated behind it. It is rare to see it in Canada. But behind this covering quite clearly is Calgary's old City Hall.

Chinatown has a number of murals









One, at least, was still a work in progress.


One of those "free libraries" homeowners put up on their front lawns was nicely decorated.

The East Village has a number of murals done in mosaic tiles. Plus a painted mural in an underpass used by homeless people.






Some traffic barriers were nicely decorated
